Types of Dimensional Signs
Dimensional Letters and Logos
Carved Thru Letters and Logos are when the letters and shapes are cut-out and physically cut away from the material. Adding side or backlighting can create a stunning halo effect, bringing the letters to life at night while maintaining visibility during the day.
Flush Mount or Raised Letters
Flush-mounted letters are individually attached directly onto a building's exterior (façade), creating a modern, sleek appearance where the letters seem to float off the wall, unlike signs mounted on a raceway. For illuminated channel letters, the wiring and power components are installed behind the building's wall or façade, with holes drilled through the wall for each letter's electrical elements. How Are They Made?
STEP 1
DESIGN AND MATERIALS
Finalize your materials with our graphic designers and choose from several interior or exterior materials. Confirm size, depth, layers and illumination.
Step 2
MANUFACTURING PROCESSES
Based on the design details your designer will choose to use a CNC Router or Laser Etcher to create your project.
Step 3
FINISHING
Letters and Logos are often painted or powder coated to achieve the desired colour and finish (matte, gloss, metallic, etc.)
Step 4
POLISHING
Acrylics and metals may need to be polished for a shiny professional look. Metals may need to be brushed, top coated or finished with a rust treatment.
Step 5
VINYL GRAPHICS
Vinyl graphics can be applied to the front or back instead of paint to give it a more branded look. Laminates help with textures and finishing options.
Step 6
MOUNTING
The finished letters or logo can be mounted directly to a backer or directly to the surface where they will be displayed, often using standoffs for a dimensional effect.
